We first worked with Alessandro Talevi in 2007, whilst he was Artistic Director of Independent Opera at Saddlers Wells, a charity set up to locate, nurture, develop and showcase the next generation of outstanding opera artists.
After a three-year tenure at Independent Opera, the rising star commissioned us to design his personal website, as he launched his career as an opera director. Over the past decade his career has gone from strength to strength and Talevi is now recognised as one of the leading opera directors of his generation.
2021 sees the launch of Talevi’s new website by Silk Pearce. The bespoke site is designed to further elevate the profile of the highly talented opera director to the next level.
Our creative execution focuses on the rich stage photography of Talevi’s portfolio of productions, which are used dramatically to fill the screen and complimented by clever yet subtle use of typography which visually interacts with the images. We also make use of a ‘negative’ style image effect that provides a striking backdrop and creates further visual drama.
The fully responsive site dramatically changes when viewed on different devices and screen dimensions, providing a view that is almost as unique as each visitor. We worked with Talevi closely throughout the project ensuring his artistic vision and imagery was enhanced by the design of the site. We built the site in house with CraftCMS in the back-end to allow easy content management and editing.
