We’ve worked with Favini, one of Italy’s leading paper manufacturers, since 2008. Designing it’s brand identity plus swatches and visual books for its range of specialist papers. We also advise on colour trends and name generation for new ranges – such as Crush, Refit and Remake.
Favini specialises in the eco-friendly design and production of paper made using recycled fibres and organic residues. The most recent to launch are Tree Free, made using 75% bamboo and 25% cotton, and Shiro Echo a wonderfully smooth 100% recycled paper. Both are also carbon neutral and made with 100% renewable energy – what’s not to like?
To demonstrate their beautiful print characteristics we were commissioned to design two visual books: the first, Brilliant Bamboo illustrates the well, ‘brilliant' qualities of bamboo through a series of curated images from stamps to scaffolding.
The second, promoting Shiro Echo, is Factory Records. Our concept focuses on the process of making recycled paper at Favini's mill in Rossano Veneto. We commissioned and art directed illustrator Lyndon Hayes to record various factory scenes in his inimitable style and mixed these with bold graphics of machine plates and logos. The end result reveals the journey from pulp to packaging.
