Kao Data are one of Europe’s leading high performance data centres with sustainable and efficiency credentials to match.
Our film promotes Kao Data as the data centre operator of choice with the visual inspiration for this film being from ‘2001: A Space Odyssey’, a film by Stanley Kubrick made over 50 years ago – iconic and as fresh today as ever.
Composed of a series of stylised, semi-abstract, highly graphic shots of one of the data centres in Harlow – the huge spaces, the square boxes of colourful servers with flickering LEDs, the intricate pipework, the stunning façade and more. Each area dramatically lit with the camera panning through these atmospheric spaces to pull the viewer in.
With simple contemporary typography, a modern orchestral piece of sound design that builds to a crescendo, all mixed in with a strong and confident voiceover.
The overall feel is of a movie trailer where by the end the viewer can’t wait to see it or get in touch!
We collaborated with film production duo Reuben + Jamie who helped realise our concept and vision using their film and animation expertise. Instrumental at every stage of the creative process from moodboards and moodreels, to storyboard, shoot, editing, sound design and colour grade.
